KEY PRINCIPLE OF PRAYER #5: PRAY WITH YOUR SPOUSE!

If you trust and believe, you can pray and expect that He will make your marriage a Godly one! Surely, that is God’s will for your marriage that it prosper and grow in Him. Richard Burr, in his book, “Developing Your Secret Closet of Prayer”, makes this compelling statement: “In my many years of ministry…I have never heard of a marriage that ended in divorce if the husband and wife prayed together regularly."

Many years ago, I attended a seminar where an event occurred that made a quite a vivid impression on me. At one point, the leader asked married women to comment on what they thought about their husbands praying with them. The raw emotion that came from these women was truly illuminating and startling – I never expected to see such a reaction, I can assure you. It taught me a lesson I will never forget!

Recently, I heard in a radio interview from a ministry leader who works with married couples. I wish I could remember who it was so I could give proper credit. He noted that in his seminars and ministry, sadly only about 5% of the couples he ministers to pray together.
