Dr. Timothy Johnson was known to many television viewers as the longtime Chief Medical Correspondent for ABC News. He is also an ordained pastor, and the author of “Finding God in the Questions: A Personal Journey”. He once opined that he thought “we are a demonstration project for the angels” when asked why God created us. This sentiment makes a lot of sense, especially when you consider the scriptures given below. These passages support Dr. Johnson’s contention:
“For it seems to me that God has put us apostles on display at the end of the procession, like those condemned to die in the arena. We have been made a spectacle to the whole universe, to angels as well as to human beings.” (1 Cor 4:9)
“A man ought not to cover his head, since he is the image and glory of God; but woman is the glory of man. For man did not come from woman, but woman from man; neither was man created for woman, but woman for man. It is for this reason that a woman ought to have authority over her own head, because of the angels. Nevertheless, in the Lord woman is not independent of man, nor is man independent of woman. For as woman came from man, so also man is born of woman. But everything comes from God.” (1 Cor 11:7-12)
